You always hear someone telling you to do warm-ups before a workout, but is it important. Is it beneficial to how well you performed during an intense day at the gym? Even if you just going to do a full mile run, or walking around the neighborhood. If it’s helpful should you really do it for all types of workouts?
I don’t know if it’s just me or not but it seems so repetitive when I hear the word “warm-ups” All the way down from a young age to adult life. Eventually, you would probably cave in and even if you think it’s no use. Since some form of warm-ups is still in the category of exercise such as stretching, jumping jacks, lunges and yes I said lunges there are some tense warm-ups. Exercises are a warm-up.
The good news is that you don’t have to do a lot of digging to find the reasons why warm-ups are so important.

Increase of Flexibility
Being more flexible is a good direction in doing a range of motions. Muscles tend to become stiff and work against what you want your body to do. Constantly moving your body into different forms can lead to less energy. A few minutes of the day to stretch might be exactly what you need for the next step. You might not meet your goals if the muscles are constricted to work against each other to perform. Since stretching relaxed your muscles through a warm-up. You should now be capable to perform high movements for a longer period of time. Makes workout easier.
Improved Performance
Having the strength to be able to perform how you want. Is possible but it usually comes with a little bit of preparation. Let’s be honest who doesn’t want to be injured while trying to do a workout. Warm-ups have been able the prevent injury during an exercise. For one it helps prepare your muscles for what’s to come. Since you prepare the entire body in a calmer or slower way then the real workout is going to be. It’s kind of like you’re giving your body a warning.

Improvement of Oxygen Intake
As everyone knows how all of us need oxygen to live. Have you ever felt tired during and after a workout, because yous started to lose your breath? Well in an article it has been proven that warm-ups before a workout allow more blood to flow and oxygen intake to increase.
Warm-ups lead to higher performance rates, regardless of the type of warm-up. You might have a beginner in mind, but if you be specific in what movements are right for you. Whether if you’re going for a more intense warm-up. It’s all the same for both. The warm-up you do can take you a long way into the session. More oxygen during a performance means less likely to get weak or tired.
