Easy steps to creating the perfect ootd
I like to think that for anyone trying to find the perfect outfit. Which in many cases comes from a few trials and errors. There’s no telling what one might throw together when you start to get insanely stressed when picking the right OOTD (meaning: Outfit Of The Day). It is an art form and all about switching up different items you might have in your closet.
I don’t know about you, but I have lost track of how often I wear athleisure. So, before I go into more detail, I have to say there isn’t a secret formula for your ootd. A cute top over a chic dress can be one perfect outfit. One of the most common steps is mixing a few little pieces, which means accessorizing the look with jewelry, a purse, or even shoes. BTW, whatever everyone else wears may not be the right outfit for you.

Think About Where You’re Going
First, you must consider where you’re going and how you will spend your day. Are you just going to do ordinary errands? Will you be going for a night out in the town? Are you going to a work meeting?
What is the weather going to be like? It would be best if you considered all these outcomes and or situations. Most days, we wake up with only a bit of time to style our hair however we want. Then, any extra time we had was probably used to make breakfast and a cup of jo. That’s why every moment counts, so why in the world would we waste it?
Pick Out An Item
.
Aside from only picking a piece of jewelry, think bigger, like a shirt or bottoms. You want something to be different when choosing a base to start with. If you want to stand out, the best way is to look for colors and patterns. That’s what you should pay attention to. Don’t get too overwhelmed if you choose a bold item like a snakeskin skirt. Cause you can take it down a notch by keeping everything else neutral. For example, a snakeskin skirt with a white, fitting top with no details can be perfect for your ootd.
Think About Layers
The part where you have to figure out what tops, jackets, or even bottoms will go with your chosen base. It’s all about layers today, and I’m not talking about how the more fabric you have, the better the outfit will be. It’s more than layers that will help complete the overall look you’re trying to convey.
With this step, you may even make 10+ outfit formulas with the single base you had picked. So it can be pretty tense in choosing the right items that go perfectly together for your ootd. Sometimes if you put on some blue jeans, generally speaking, a basic T-shirt comes to mind. Since you usually gotta run out fast and need to pick anything. To make it a little bit easier for you. Here are some outfit combinations:
- Blue jeans + shirt + jacket + flats
- Dress +cardigan + flip flops
- Skirt + crop top + heels
It would be best if you put some thinking into what you wear. Well, hold on a sec; your clothes are supposed to show how you feel and who you are. It would be best if, therefore, embrace what you stand for through your own.
A Need For Shoes
It’s almost impossible to neglect the possibility of not wearing shoes. Unless you stepped out of the house wearing none. Which happens more often than you might realize. Anyway, I’m getting off-topic here. So back to shoes when choosing the right style of footwear. You need to first have one thing in mind. How is the weather? This is, of course, going back to the first step, but this is very important. Because you don’t want to wear flip-flops when it is pouring down. Instead, you should use a more practical approach, like close-in shoes.
This leads to my second motion, a function that is just as important and must be carefully thought out. It can make or break an outfit. Thirdly, when choosing a pair of shoes, it can quickly become repetitive with you constantly wearing the same color repeatedly. Just like clothes, therefore, it’s better to think about a style which is everything, “I might say.” Your shoes need to coincide with the clothing pieces you have.
Choose Wisely On Accessories
.
Well, this eventually gotta come up; not everyone is a fan of watches and bracelets. So most tend to neglect accessories from their entire outfit. Jewelry is what I like to say, “is a complete piece that throws everything together!” I wasn’t a massive fan of any accessories, to begin with. Especially if you bought something costly, it falls on the ground and breaks. That can be a big bummer. Well, losing the bracelet sucks, but the good news is that it doesn’t happen too often from a personal standpoint.
I know women whose not into all the glitz and glam might not like to wear jewelry. Let me tell you about the essential necklace with a few tiny details in the middle. Jewelry like that for your outfit—they go with everything! I feel like I’m here to change your mind about them.
One modern and simplistic accessory is by Swarovski. The price isn’t too crazy, but rightly it’s so in modern times! Also, it has free shipping, so grab it up! If you want to check it out, you can see it HERE!
One side note is it comes in two different color tones: a good thing—cause who doesn’t love options?
Macy’s has a variety of selections. You can choose from all types of the price range. (Nope, This post is not sponsored in any way, I don’t like to keep everything eye-catching to myself)

I definitely need to get better with layering! I also need to be a bit more creative – I have my grab and go outfits that I tend to wear often even though I have a closet full of stuff.
Soooo important to think about ?
These are such great tips to remember! I love the tip about layering and thinking about where you’re going. So many awesome tips to live by!

cute & little
Such a wonderfully detailed article about choosing a great outfit for any given day. I usually choose my bottoms first and work from there. Certain tops look better with certain bottoms, and then I’ll know exactly which shoes and accessories to match with the base! I don’t layer as often as I’d like, but I’m trying to get better with it. That “third piece” is always a nice addition!
I am the same way as you, I have tons of stuff in my closet and I am pretty good with layering my outfits. This is a great advice on this topic! 🙂
I suck in putting together layers. This is article definitely gave me some great ideas in doing so.
